The Production Planning department at Emirates Engineering plays a pivotal role in getting all the required maintenance done in the most efficient manner. Utilizing advanced planning tools, in depth technical reviews and collaborating closely with various teams, we ensure smooth maintenance operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing aircraft availability. Our focus is on maintaining high safety and efficiency standards while adapting to the airline’s dynamic requirements.
As a Senior Engineer Production Planning you will be responsible to direct and manage all production planning and control activities in order to ensure accomplishment of all planned and non-routine activities on time, in budget and to the quality and safety standards expected. Work in close and continuous co-ordination with workshops, aircraft maintenance, planning sections and materials management to - improve the processes, efficiency and productivity, - reduce turn round time, material, labour costs and wastage, - optimise work allocation, deployment and utilisation of all resources (manpower, materials, equipment and facilities).

Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all production planning and control activities to ensure accomplishment of all planned and non-routine activities on time, in budget and to the quality and safety standards expected.
- Work in close and continuous co-ordination with workshops, aircraft maintenance, planning sections and materials management to improve processes, efficiency and productivity, reduce turn round time, material, labour costs and wastage, optimise work allocation, deployment and utilisation of all resources (manpower, materials, equipment and facilities).
- Monitor progress, problems and issues, provide day to day Status Reports on work progress to all stakeholders, highlighting significant deviations from the production schedule, discuss in Daily Production Meetings, and take prompt and effective actions including remedial actions, emergency planning, etc to mitigate these issues.
- Analyse actual production performance against the standards and plans, highlight variances, causes and effect, and make recommendations to improve future planning integrity and for concerned sections to take necessary remedial actions.
- Manage the implementation of remedial actions to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Manage the creation of a robust demand plan for the delivery of all planned work as notified by the Airline CAMO and Materials Management in conjunction with the 145 Management Team.
- Ensure this plan covers both short, medium and long-term demands and takes into account any possible demand driver from across the business.
- Work with all business units to identify and forecast these demands.
- Accountable for the delivery of the PPC function in assigned area within Budget, ensuring the team have a cost conscious mind-set.
- Responsible for working with the 145 management team in assigned area to reduce the cost of maintenance across all categories (Labour, Materials & other costs) and where possible mitigate cost by generating revenue from 3rd parties.
- Manage the Safety and Compliance of assigned PPC teams deliverables, ensuring adherence with EPM's and Work Instructions.
- Manage the Performance Management System and ensure all assigned staff are actively engaged in achieving 100% of the planned Objectives and Development Plans.
- Accountable to ensure team members are developing and providing the department with a benefit from the training and development effort.
- Where team members are not delivering or performing as required, responsible for taking necessary actions to correct this.
- **Aircraft Maintenance:** Manage the delivery of Production Planning activities for Aircraft Maintenance working with the hangar managers to ensure the service is meeting agreed SLA's.
- Direct and guide Production Planning and Control staff in following efficient processes in all planning and control phases of the maintenance input, including, work-pack production, downtime estimation, workflow planning, check control and non-routine re-planning, materials coordination and work-pack closure and control.
- **Workshops:** Manage the delivery of Production Planning activities for Overhaul Workshops working with the shop managers to ensure the service is meeting agreed SLA's.
- Ensure the planning process is delivering SSS parts to Aircraft Maintenance per agreed timelines though appropriate planning and prioritisation of available resources in the shop.
- Simultaneously ensure that minimum stock levels are maintained for components as agreed with Materials Management by balancing workloads for the production team.
- Identify opportunities for new capability development and create business plans to support this capability development and investment.
Requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical & Technical) OR Holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence.
- Engineering / Planning Experience: 10+ Years.
- GCAA/EASA Type Licence on EK fleet Type Experience in Aircraft maintenance.
- 6+ years must have been in a supervisory/managerial role in Production Planning at an Airline or 3rd party Maintenance Facility.
- Good knowledge of aircraft systems, power plant and components.
- Thorough understanding of Aircraft Regulatory requirements and Aircraft Maintenance documents.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ULTRAMAIN is an advantage.
